Contract UX Designer, Piriform

This was my second stint at Piriform, having taken the recommendations and direction from my first engagement the team were now ready to move on to the next stage of the product lifecycle. Working closely with the product owner we set out a new strategy and road map, advanced the user research function and established an iterative user centred design approach to product development.

Contract UX Designer, Clearleft

Jul 2016 - Jun 2017 (1 year)

I undertook two projects whilst at Clearleft. First as part of the Virgin Holidays team that looked to drive industry best practice within the existing Agile workstreams. Second was leading a project for JP Morgan Chase to improve a major internal tool, the project was as a proof of concept for implementing a company wide UX function and establishing a continued working relationship between Clearleft and JP Morgan Chase.

Apr 2016 - Jun 2016 (3 months)

Integrating with the in-house Agile team to work on their flagship PC optimisation software. Defining and implementing product and UX strategy. Building an understanding of who their customers were and implementing a research process to guide future product decisions. Worked with the team to outline future UX strategy which would guide the next stage of product development.

Jul 2015 - Feb 2016 (8 months)

Variety of projects taking ideas from initial concept through to final implementation as part of an Agile team. A typical project involved stakeholder interviews, user journeys, IA, personas, competitor analysis, sketching, wireframing, prototyping, user research and final build. Clients include Co-operative Insurance and Esure.

Mar 2015 – Jul 2015 (5 months)

Prototyping and delivering proof of concept projects for pensions and ISAs. Developing ideas through stakeholder interviews, journey maps, wireframes, prototyping, focus groups and user testing. Clients include Lloyds banking group and Scottish Widows.

Online webcasting platform for the recording and broadcasting of events by local councils. Responsible for UX across the organisation as part of the scrum team to enhance existing product ranges and deliver new business solutions.

Jun 2012 – Dec 2013

In-house UX designer working on SaaS collaboration and project management software for the public sector. Responsible for full UX lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to final build and release, as part of the Agile development team.
